Great post. It's amazing how more we (I) rely on God when things are going wrong as opposed to when we have been blessed. It should be easiest to commune with Him when all is well, but pride tends to get in the way. I've been studying James the last couple months and James 4:8 seems like it fits here too - "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." It's great to know that the Creator actually wants to dwell in His creation. Thanks for the encouragement in your blog...it was a pleasant surprise today :)

So true! Helped me put my life in perspective and realize who comes first. We dont like being that person that is only turned to when they need help - why should God be any different? Thank you so much for sharing. Even bigger fan.

this is so true. oftentimes people neglect their relationship w/God until they want or need something from him (myself included). its as though because we can't see him we forget tishat he still desires our attention..our love...our reverence. I try to in perspective what if this was a person how could I take no thought of them for however long and then turn around and ask for their help. that's not how we maintain earthly relationships and neither should our gravely and most important relationship be like that.

My mann down with Christ!! It's good to see another young Pro Athlete that puts Christ first in his life and isn't afraid to make it known, (more than just when they've won an award... ) . I believe its going to be a uprising of young of professional Christian athletes. which means better role models for the young ones. Keep it up.

You are so wise. I pray God continues to bless you. Thank you for sharing and reminding the world to get to know God. He has put you in a public position and I know he is smiling on you. I teach international students speaking and listening (and can't bring the Bible into the classroom but I tell them that they should go back to their countries and cause a ripple effect. To "treat other people the way you want them to treat you" and the whole world will become a better place.

I have to say you impress me on the field, but you also really impress me off the field. The way you hold tight to your beliefs and faith in god. You are in a spot where some really good people lose their way, the fame or the money turns their head and that is it. You maintain your relationship with god, more than maintain you flourish and grow with it. It gives me courage and hope, if you are able to do it, then I can to. The way you give God the praise and glory for it all, is amazing. I am saying that you really do inspire me, with your play and with your faith. Anyway great blog I hope to see more. I recently saw that you said something along the lines of "God's will is that you bring him glory in whatever you do." It takes a mature Christian to realize that. I used to worry what God's will for my life was and what is my purpose. Then I realized that his will is that I know him, obey him and bring him glory in everything I do. If do that then the rest of life, my purpose, will fall into place. It's too bad that a lot of people never understand that.

I really commend you for the fact that even when you made it to the big leagues you never forgot where you came from or who was there with you from the beginning. It is so easy to get caught up in the material things. Sometimes we forget our roots/where we have come from, until it is taken away. U really r a big role model for me. Before i play a football game i watch alot of your highlights n it gets me so pumped especially the video when the song shut down is being played.
